Talking of that game, if it were a knock around in the park, once it went to 5-0 some players would have swapped sides just to make it a bit more even. Just an idea FIFA.
I’m not sure it helped Brazil that they reacted to Neymar‘s absence as if he’d died, holding his shirt up during the national anthem et al.
After the game Mats Hummels came out and said Germany decided to go easy at half-time to avoid embarrassing Brazil, which ironically by announcing it makes it quite embarrassing for Brazil.
After beating Brazil 7-1, Germany are favourites to win the World Cup, should they do this, I’m sure we’ll be told we should follow their model. Unless Argentina win it and then the template will include producing the World’s greatest player and 10 others and hoping for the best.
